Natalie Diane Grant is a renowned American singer and songwriter of contemporary Christian music. Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous accolades, including four consecutive Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year from 2006-2009, and another in 2012. Natalie has also been nominated for eight Grammy Awards, with the most recent nomination in 2020.
Born on December 21, 1971 in Seattle, Washington, Natalie initially pursued a career in education before venturing into music. She began her music journey by auditioning for Truth, a traveling music group, before relocating to Nashville, Tennessee to focus on her solo career. In 1997, Natalie signed with Benson Records and released her self-titled debut album in 1999.
Despite early frustrations with her record label, which focused on marketing her looks instead of her talent, Natalie persevered. Her breakthrough success came with the release of her fifth album, "Awaken," which was RIAA certified gold. Natalie's charitable pursuits and life-altering trip to India in 2004 inspired her to create music that inspires hope and motivates others to make their lives matter.
Natalie has since released ten studio albums, with her most recent offering, "No Stranger," released in 2020. She continues to make an impact in the music industry and beyond, with her hosting gig on the GSN original game show "It Takes a Church" and her charitable contributions.
