I'm Listening - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]
We all have moments in our lives when we feel overwhelmed and confused. We can feel like we are in a storm and don’t know which way to turn. But in those moments, we can turn to God and His Word. In Psalm 46:10, it says “Be still, and know that I am God.” When we take a moment to be still and listen to God, He will speak to us and give us peace and hope.
The song “I’m Listening” by Chris McClarney reminds us of this truth. The lyrics say “When You speak, confusion fades, just a word and suddenly I’m not afraid.” When we take the time to listen to God, He will speak to us and give us the peace and hope we need. The bridge of the song says “Your ways are higher, You know just what I need. I trust You Jesus, You see what I cannot see.” We can trust in God and His Word, even when we don’t understand what is happening in our lives.
The chorus of the song says “I don’t wanna miss one word You speak, ‘cause everything You say is life to me. I don’t wanna miss one word You speak, quiet my heart, I’m listening.” We can take time to be still and listen to God, and He will speak to us. We can quiet our hearts and listen to His Word, and it will bring us life.
In Isaiah 30:21 it says “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” When we take the time to listen to God, He will speak to us and show us the way. We can trust in Him and His Word, and He will give us the peace and hope we need.
