Take Me There - In the Bible [Verses & Devotional]

We all long for a place of peace and love, a place where we can be free from shame and guilt. In the song Take Me There, Anna Golden invites us to experience the glory of the Lord and to know what it feels like when heaven touches earth.

The Bible tells us that God is the source of all peace and love. In John 14:27, Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” We can find peace in God’s presence, and He will free us from our shame and guilt.

The song also speaks of angels crying holy and elders bowing down at God’s feet. In Revelation 4:8-11, we read of the angels and elders in heaven who are constantly praising God: “Day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.’ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.’”

The song also speaks of God coming like a rushing wind and falling like a mighty rain. In Acts 2:2-4, we read of the Holy Spirit coming like a rushing wind: “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

God is the source of all peace and love, and He is worthy of all our praise and worship. As we sing Take Me There, let us invite God to come like a rushing wind and fall like a mighty rain, and let us experience the glory of the Lord as heaven touches earth.
